This international exchange was one of the first offered by our home school (York University, Toronto, Canada) in partnership with the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Keele University. Through this international exchange we feel that we have grown both personally and professionally and have come to understand the nursing profession on an international platform. With the support of Wynne Thomas, School International Champion, Sister Dunn and Staff Nurse Emma Hulson and all the Clinical Mentors we were able to experience various areas of the hospitals and learn about some of the practice differences even though the principles were the same. The nursing staff, physicians and other healthcare professionals along with Wynne Thomas, Sister Dunn and Staff Nurse Emma Hulson were very welcoming and allowed for us to learn in a non-threatening environment. This exchange has left us with nothing but great experiences and memories to last us a lifetime. We are truly grateful to our home and host universities for giving us this amazing opportunity and we definitely recommend it to anyone considering it.”
