Welcome Sessions
On Tuesday 1 October, senior University staff will officially welcome Postgraduate Taught Students to Keele University.
These introductory sessions offer a warm welcome from the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Education and Student Experience, the Head of Student Support and Development, as well as the President of the KPA and Officers from the Students’ Union. These talks are a great opportunity for you to find out more about Postgraduate study, the University, opportunities to get involved, Student Support, Keele Postgraduate Association (KPA) and Keele Students’ Union (KeeleSU). They are also an ideal way to meet fellow Postgraduate Taught Students from across the University.
Sessions are due to take place at the following times in the Keele Hall Ballroom;
1.30-2.30pm
3-4pm

Postgraduate Taught School Induction
During Welcome Week, the following Course and/or Academic School Inductions are taking place. You will receive further details from your Academic School prior to enrolment. Any other Inductions or Welcome Meetings that are being planned will be communicated to you prior to your arrival at Keele. To find out which Academic School your course is in, go to www.keele.ac.uk/pgtcourses
Some courses have a different start date, particularly if they are offered on a part-time basis. If you cannot find the course that you are looking for, then please check with your Academic School.
PGCE and School Direct Student Registration and Induction
The Full-time Initial Teaching Training courses commence on Monday 9 September 2013 (exact times and location to be confirmed) Primary Teacher Training are invited to attend during June or July (dates confirmed via email)
Secondary Teacher Training are invited to attend during July or August (dates confirmed via email)
Counselling Psychology Postgraduate Taught Student Registration
The Full-time Masters in Counselling Psychology & Part-time Professional Counselling training route start on Saturday 21 September 2013, with the compulsory Residential Weekend, Saturday & Sunday for all students, followed by the intensive fortnight of teaching, Tuesday 24 – Friday 27 September & Monday 30 – Friday 4 October 2013, for the Full-time and Part-time, Year 2, and Postgraduate Diploma students only.
Student Registration will be on Tuesday 24 September at 2pm (location to be confirmed) for the Full-time Masters in Counselling Psychology and Part-time Year 2, and Postgraduate Diploma students.
Certificate in Counselling
Tuesday 24 September 2013 at 2pm (location to be confirmed) Teaching for Year 1 Certificate in Counselling students starts on Tuesday 24 September 2013.
Keele Management School Postgraduate Taught Student Induction
Monday 30 September 2013, 9.30-11am in the Darwin Building, room DW0.30. Students will receive details of the induction week timetable. This induction is for full-time students only, students studying part-time will receive details of their induction programme separately.
School of Computing and Maths Postgraduate Taught Student Induction
Monday 30 September 2013, registration 12noon-2pm in the Colin Reeves Building (School Office, CR25) followed by Induction from 2pm. Further details of the induction programme will be available on registration.
School of Health and Rehabilitation Postgraduate Taught Student Induction
Monday 23 September 2013, in the MacKay Building Lecture Theatre 2 from 9.30am-3pm.
MBA Health Executive and Diploma Health Services Management
Induction will take place on Monday 18 November.
MA History
Induction will take place on Wednesday 2 October 2013, time and venue to be confirmed.
The induction meeting gives students the opportunity to meet staff and obtain information relating to the programme. Timetables and reading lists will also be available at this meeting.
MA Global Media and Culture

School of Politics, International Relations and Philosophy Postgraduate Taught Student Induction
SPIRE PGT Welcome Programme for home and international postgraduate students will take place on Wednesday 2 October commencing 12noon in CBA1.099/100 (room to be confirmed). Teaching for PGT students commences Monday 7 October. PGT programmes delivered by SPIRE are: MA/MRes Diplomatic Studies; Global Security; European Politics and Culture; International Relations; Environmental Politics; Parties and Elections. MA Climate Change Studies; MA Dialogue Studies; MRes Philosophy; MPhil Philosophy.
Biomedical & Cell and Tissue Engineering Postgraduate Taught Student Induction
Tuesday 24 September 2013 9.30am at the Institute of Science & Technology for Medicine, Thornburrow Drive, Hartshill Campus.
Social Work Postgraduate Taught Student Registration and Induction
Registration will take place on Saturday 28 September 2013, 9am-4pm in the Exhibition Suite, Chancellor’s Building. Students unable to attend on the Saturday will be able to register on Monday 30 September between, 12noon-3pm in the Exhibition Suite, Chancellor’s Building.
