Money Matters
Tuition
Undergraduate
Tuition fees for 2013/14 for full-time undergraduate students from the UK/EU are £9,000 and you can take out a tuition fee loan from your student finance authority to pay the tuition fee, if eligible. You will not start repaying the loan until after you have finished your course and are earning over £21,000 a year. After applying, you will get your Financial Notification Schedule which details tuition fee payment. Post a copy to the Income Office or scan a copy and email to support.money@keele.ac.uk.
Maintenance Loan/Living Cost Loan: If you have applied for a student loan, your first instalment will be paid into your bank account ONLY after you have formally enrolled at Keele (page 8 of welcome guide). You will need to inform your student finance authority of your bank details. It can take at least a week from enrolment for your loan to be paid to your bank account (by BACS transfer), so you should make sure you have money available to cover costs in the first week or so. If you are eligible to receive the maintenance grant too, the payment details are the same. Please send a copy of the Payment Schedule to the Student Financial Support Office
Postgraduate
Tuition fees for 2013/14 were stated in your offer letters, and will be invoiced to you. If you have a sponsor for all or part of your fees you must provide written confirmation from your sponsor with the details of the payments they will make. The sponsor will need to provide their full name and address for invoicing purposes. If you are on a modular mode of attendance then you will be invoiced as you enrol for each module.
If you are applying for a Professional and Career Development Loans (PCDL) to assist you with your tuition fees or living costs, you should take your "confirmation of enrolment" form to the Student Financial Support Office to be signed and stamped after you have enrolled fully on your course. Until this form is stamped by the university and returned by you to the bank, your loan will not be released.
If you are paying some or all of your tuition fees yourself (or your parent or guardian is paying), payments can be made in one or two instalments direct to the University. Complete and return the Direct Debit form for accommodation and tuition fees (if paying for fees directly). You can find out how to do this by going to http://www.keele.ac.uk/finance/income/paymentmethods and then complete it online through eVision by 14 September.
