Social Innovation Expert Speaks At Keele

The Young Foundation spoke this week about The Changing Landscape of Social Needs in Britain.

Geoff Mulgan looked at the changing definitions of need and current philosophical and theoretical debates, as well as changing views on which needs matter, and addressed the main routes people meet their needs ? through the market, state, family and friends and the voluntary sector.

He also looked at where the gaps are, including new research data on who is falling behind, as well as reflections on which needs are likely to become more serious over the next few years, and the challenges this will pose for public policy.
