British Cochlear Implant Group Lecture

Professor Carole Hackney gave an invited lecture on the structure and function of the normal and damaged cochlea at the annual conference of the British Cochlear Implant Group. The meeting was hosted this year by the Staffordshire Cochlear Implant Support Service. She then flew to Washington to take part in a meeting on the Molecular Biology of Hearing and Deafness where some of her group's latest findings on the distribution of ion channels and calcium-binding proteins in the cochlea were presented. This visit was supported by a Travel Award from the Wellcome Trust of £900.
