Research
Keele University has organized its research activities into Research Institutes. All research-active academic staff, all postdoctoral researchers and all postgraduate research students are members of a Research Institute.
The Research Institute for the Environment, Physical Sciences and Applied Mathematics (EPSAM) lies wholly within the Faculty of Natural Sciences. Most staff teaching in the School of Computing and Mathematics and the School of Physical and Geographical Sciences are members of EPSAM. Some staff teaching in the School of Life Sciences are also members of EPSAM.
Most staff teaching in the School of Life Sciences are members of the Research Institute for Science an
d Technology in Medicine (ISTM). Some staff teaching in the School of Physical and Geographical Sciences are also members of ISTM.
Most staff teaching in the School of Psychology are members of the Research Institute for Social Sciences.
Staff from the School of Physical and Geographical Sciences who contribute to teaching in Human Geography are members of the Research Institute for the Humanities and the Research Institute for Social Sciences.
