Miroslav Spasov has UK Premiere of ECHOS
Miroslav Spasov, Senior Lecturer in Music and Music Technology, was one of the several featured composers at the New London Chamber Choir (NLCC) concert on Sunday, 10 March in one of the oldest concert venues in the UK, Wilton's Music Hall in London.
His composition ECHOS for twelve-part mixed choir (written for NLCC and premiered abroad in 2010) had its UK premiere under the leadership of Clement Power, former assistant conductor of Ensemble Intercontemporain, Paris, where he worked with Pierre Boulez and Peter Eötvös. The programme of the concert entitled Macedonia Now! Highlights different strands and colours through the works of several prominent younger generation composers and includes four world premieres.
NLCC is one of the most prestigious vocal ensembles for contemporary music in the UK and Europe and has commissioned and premiered works by many world class composers, including Xenakis, Boulez, Scelsi, Saariaho and others. It works under the patronage of the composer and conductor Perre Boulez.
