Check you KEELE EMAIL (and your pigeonhole too... and the notice boards!)

Check you Keele email daily. Important communication from Music / Music Tech is done via your Keele email account only.

We do NOT send messages to your private emails (hotmail, yahoo, etc) or through social networks (FaceBook, MySpace, etc.).

Pigeonholes for the different year groups are located in the corridor which leads to the Clockhouse Lecture Room. You should check them regularly as important letters and memos are posted there.

The main noticeboard for your year group is located on the stairs by the Clockhouse Lecture Room: this is where you sign up, and where all course information is placed. Please refer to the board on a regular basis. The noticeboard for Keele Philharmonic Society schedules, etc., is near room G11. There is a board for urgent messages and instrumental lessons by the pigeonholes and one for general notices opposite the toilets. Studio and careers notices are placed on the boards near Studio 1 and the Tim Souster Studio on the ground floor.

library01 Library - There will be conducted tours of the Music section of the University Library during the first few weeks of the semester. Attendance on one of these tours is considered compulsory; since they give you information vital to all of your music study at Keele; you should sign up on the appropriate sheet after registration.

kcslogo20010-11 Keele Concert Society - The Keele Concerts Society gives a series of concerts on Wednesday evenings. Music and Music Technology students may obtain cheap subscription tickets for the whole series, and are also entitled to obtain from the department a card enabling them to get a 75% reduction on a full price ticket for any concert – provided they wait until the last 10 minutes before the concert starts and that there are unsold tickets remaining for which there is no demand. If you want a card, let us know when you register. The KCS brochure – which also contains details of all Keele Philharmonic Society concerts – can be picked up at the Clockhouse.

Booking studios and practice rooms -

Practice Rooms in the Clockhouse may be booked using the booking sheets on the noticeboard alongside room G11 on the ground floor. The practice rooms can be used from early morning until late evening, as well as at weekends, though access to the department outside opening hours is only possible by a key fob (ask the Office for details). Please ensure that if you have made a booking for a practice room, you turn up promptly for it. Do not make bookings if you cannot keep them as others are then inconvenienced.

Some studios do not require booking. If you are an authorised user and your electronic is programmed accordingly, you can enter these areas any day, any time (some restriction may apply). Other studios operate on the basis of slots that can be booked using the booking sheets on the noticeboard alongside G5 on the ground floor. Access to these studios is only possible via a key fob (ask the Office for details).

IMPORTANT: Always refer to the Studio and Facilities Code of Practice which tells you what you CAN and CANNOT do when using our rooms and facilities.
