Description

The aim of the module is to provide critical understanding about the changing relationship between business and society in the context of globalisation. This course provides a broad introduction to and an opportunity to deliberate upon some of the ethical challenges which firms encounter, and to examine the theoretical frameworks available in order to resolve or discuss these challenges.

Aims

This course provides a broad introduction to and an opportunity to deliberate upon some of the ethical problems which modern business encounters, and to examine the ethical frameworks available in order to resolve or discuss these challenges. The aim is to provide students with an understanding of both classical and contemporary business ethical theories thus enabling them to understand and deliberate about the wider role of business in society and also to examine the roles and responsibilities of individuals in business.

Description of Module Assessment

01: Case Study weighted 40%
1000 words critical analysis of a selected CSR case
Each student will be asked to critically analyse a selected case relating to Corporate Social Responsibility.

02: 2 Hour Exam weighted 60%
2 hour unseen exam covering the whole module syllabus
