Description

This module provides an introduction to the normal human anatomy and physiology of the digestive, nervous and neuromuscular body systems. It also provides a basic grounding in relevant practical techniques, including light microscopy and physiological recording.

Aims

To introduce students to the normal human anatomy and physiology of the digestive, nervous and neuromuscular body systems, including ion and molecule transport, and their functions; to examine various disease-state pathologies that affect these systems; and to provide a basic grounding in practical techniques, including light microscopy and physiological recording.

Intended Learning Outcomes

Describe the normal anatomy and physiology of the digestive, nervous and neuromuscular systems of the body. will be achieved by assessments: 1
Describe and explain the causes and outcomes of common disease-state pathologies affecting these systems. will be achieved by assessments: 1
