Description

This module develops a thorough understanding of the lease renewal machinery contained in Part II of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954. An emphasis is placed upon statutory and case law analysis. The module
provides an understanding of the underlying commercial and political policy influences which have shaped the current law, together with consideration of recent reforms. Thus it provides a detailed consideration of key aspects of commercial property law.


Aims

To achieve a deep and critical understanding of the general principles which underlie the lease renewal scheme contained in Part II of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954. To deepen the students ability to interpret and apply statutory provisions and attendant case law.

UNSEEN EXAM - 2 HOURS
Unseen paper but with the relevant statute being permitted within the exam room. Three questions from a choice of 7 to be answered in two hours.
