To provide an understanding of the scope of, and problems and techniques associated with, software engineering project management.

Systematic understanding of the key activities, models, problems and methods associated with organizing and managing software development and maintenance projects.
Ability to apply established techniques for software measurement.
A conceptual understanding of research topics at the forefront of software engineering project management.
