Introduction to Powerpoint
Length of programme: 3 hours
About the workshop:
This workshop will provide a gentle introduction to Powerpoint for those who have not used the software before or who do not feel confident in its use. It will be run as a hands on session so that participants will be able to practise the techniques described.
The workshop will begin with the production of a simple text based slide. This will then be developed through the introduction of colour, different styles and position on the page. Graphical images will be incorporated through both files and the use of the drawing facility within Powerpoint itself. This will also include ways of changing the background colour scheme and design.
The final techniques demonstrated will include the incorporation of hypertext links to the world wide web, video clips and spreadsheets in order to enhance basic presentations. The use of the notes page and the production of printed handouts will also be demonstrated.
As well as teaching these technical aspects of the program, there will be an emphasis on best practice in the use of Powerpoint throughout the session.
Participants:
Open to all members of staff.
