Teaching, Learning and Assessment at Keele
Length of Programme: 2.5 hours
About the workshop:
This 2.5 hour workshop is suitable for all University staff especially those new to Keele and new teachers who are not enrolled on the TLHE programme. This workshop will help you place yourself in both the National and Keele teaching contexts whilst providing an opportunity to discuss/share your own current issues around learning, teaching and assessment. This workshop will be primarily participant discussion led but will include some short presentations from expert individuals focussing upon the Distinctive Keele Curriculum (DKC) and supporting assessment with technology.
Discussion areas that could be covered in this workshop are:
Student generic skills and attributes, employability, the DKC, internationalisation, diversity in assessment, plagiarism (local and/or international focus), providing feedback to students etc. We will also offer the opportunity for participants to compare and discuss general teaching session design and strategies.
Learning Objectives:
- You will be able to place yourself in the National and the Keele teaching contexts and their priorities
- You will be aware of the current issues for learning, teaching and assessment, such as student generic skills and attributes, employability, the DKC, internationalisation, plagiarism, technological diversity in assessment, and providing feedback to students.
- You will develop a frame of reference to compare your own students and teaching strategies with other Keele colleagues.
Participants:
Open to all members of staff and in particular those involved in the Keele Knowledge Programme who are required to complete two open sessions within their first two years of employment at Keele.
