An Overview of Research and Enterprise Services
Length of programme: 2 hours
Learning Objectives:
- To be aware of external drivers of research and enterprise activity and how the University reports its activity to external bodies.
- To understand the range of external research and enterprise funders and to be aware of sources of information and support to maximise funding opportunities.
- To understand the basic processes involved in a successful grant application and award.
- To appreciate the range of interactions covered by 'Enterprise' and how to identify and work with external collaborators.
- To be aware of the University's policy framework around research and enterprise, including key policies and strategies, and target setting.
Participants:
Open to all members of staff and in particular those involved in the Keele Knowledge Programme who are required to complete two open sessions within their first two years of employment at Keele.
Research & Enterprise Services do not provide a fixed schedule of training courses but are happy to provide workshops, presentations or seminars on a variety of topics to suit a range of audiences, at RI, School, Faculty and Directorate level.

- Research Governance and Research Ethic
- Research Strategy (including dual support)
- Enterprise in Schools and RI's
- The Research Evaluation Framework (RAE successor)
- Sources of Support for Enterprise Activity
- Promoting Research: Publications Database and the University Research Repository
Research & Enterprise Services can also tailor presentations on request to suit particular audiences or events such as Away-days.
