Recruitment and Selection – Workshops 1 and 2

Length of Programme: 6 hours (2 x 3 hour session)

About the Workshop:

Taking on board feedback from previous participants and an evaluation of the risk poor recruitment poses to the University, the initial Recruitment and Selection training will now compise two workshops.

Workshop 1 will focus on the University recruitment and selection process (including drafting the relevant documentation) and related employment law.

Workshop 2 will be mainly skills-focussed including short listing and interviewing.

Participants:

The University has agreed that anyone directly involved in the appointment of University staff (including Chairs and members of Appointment Panels/Advisory Group members) MUST initially attend the two main Recruitment and Selection workshops (each 3 hours) and attend a Refresher workshop (1 hour) every two years thereafter.

As the workshop is being continually revised in line with legislation it is advised that you attend a workshop that is as close to your selection activities as possible.

PLEASE NOTE - THE WORKSHOP DOES NOT COVER THE RECRUITMENT OF STUDENTS.
