Length of programme: 2.5 hours
About the Workshop
The aim of this workshop is to increase your confidence and effectiveness in giving presentations. It is aimed at those with little experience of giving presentations and/or who are nervous about giving presentations.
Learning Outcomes
- Be aware of specific points which determine the effectiveness of a presentation.
- Have a knowledge of techniques which will help you to overcome nervousness.
- Have practiced giving a short talk to other members of the group.
Participants:
Research staff and others. This workshop is aimed at research staff who work primarily on projects supported by fixed term funding. It will also be of interest to postgraduate research students. Others members of staff are also welcome to attend, subject to availability of places.
This workshop is at an introductory level and those with more experience and/or confidence may find Presentation Skills 2 a more appropriate starting point.
