Introduction to Assessment

Length of Programme: 3 hours

Purpose:

To provide essential information and skills to those teaching and assessing for the first time.

This workshop will discuss practical strategies for assessment and feedback at Keele including:

highlighting the importance of assessment
identifying issues related to assessment
outlining the assessment process at Keele
identifying principles of good feedback

Please note that this workshop is aimed at those whose primary function is research. It is not appropriate for those with more extensive teaching commitments, for whom a separate programme is provided. If you are unsure whether this workshop is appropriate please contact the Centre for advice.

Participants:

Researchers who will be doing a small amount of teaching and assessment for the first time.
