Everyday Coaching
Length of programme: 3 hours
About the workshop:
In this workshop you will explore ways in which you can help staff develop their skills and abilities on a day to day basis. The focus is on developing an approach that becomes part of the way you work with others, and uses their work activities as a learning vehicle. The session begins with understanding the coaching process (GROW) and the techniques and skills for setting up “the right conversation”. It then moves on to developing a practical approach for coaching others. The use of development action plans; learning diaries and short one-to-one reviews will be highlighted.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the workshop you will:
- Have a simple and practical coaching process to use.
- Have an understanding of the roles within effective coaching.
- Have identified key skills for coaches.
- Be able to help learners create practical development plans.
- Have identified ways in which key elements of the plans can be actioned.
Participants:
- Staff who lead support teams.
- Support staff who want to explore new ways of working with others in groups.
