About the workshop

This workshop to give participants a clear understanding of the role of the leader or chair of a group and a structure to follow that will help the meeting run more smoothly to an effective outcome. Through personal reflection of past meetings and analysis of a meeting video, the common pitfalls will be highlighted and ways of avoiding them discovered. The latter part of the workshop will focus on ways of dealing with the difficult behaviours commonly experienced during meetings. Participants will leave with action points for future meetings.

As a result of attending the session you will:

  • understand the role of the chair or leader of a meeting
  • be able to set an agenda and plan for an effective meeting
  • have a simple process for managing a meeting effectively
  • be able to deal with difficult behaviours in groups
  • have action points for managing your next meeting
