- Dealing with Conflict and Disagreement
Dealing with Conflict and Disagreement
Length of programme: 3 hours
About the workshop
This is an introduction to working more positively and effectively with conflict situations. During the workshop you will explore styles of handling conflict and discover which are your preferred, even dominant, styles. We will look at the do's and don'ts of approaches to conflict with lots of tips and hints. Strangely, you will probably find that you already know how to deal with conflict, but that you get blocked from doing what is most effective. The workshop will help you overcome those blockages.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the workshop you will:
- understand the difference between conflict and disagreement
- recognise your personal conflict style(s)and the style(s) of others
- be able to judge whether to focus on "resolving" or "managing" the conflict
- have practical tips in handling conflict when it arises.
Designed for
- Staff who want to understand why they react to conflict in the way they do.
- Staff who want to explore effective ways of handling conflict situations that may arise as part of their day-to-day work
