Biological COSHH
Length of Programme: 1 hour
About the Workshop:
Biological samples can carry an inherent risk and require handling and disposal according to COSHH guidelines. Keele University is required to carry out risk assessments of Biological samples to determine that the associated inherent risk is minimized and that the correct control measures are applied. This training focuses on providing the correct training to Keele employees to ensure that risk and control measures are recognizable and understood. By undertaking the training compliance with the law and University health and safety policies will be better understood. The participant will gain a greater understanding of Biological Sample issues and be able to conduct risk assessments efficiently.
Learning Objectives:
- To improve biological hazard identification and risk assessment skills.
- To enable you to evaluate biological risks, recognize general hazards, and identify control measures.
- Increased health and safety awareness
Participants:
Staff involved in research with Biological samples wishing to increase their knowledge of workplace health and safety risks
