Keele Certificate of Language Competence (CLC)

Learners who successfully complete at least four 15-credit modules, reaching stage 6, in Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Russian or Spanish at Keele will be awarded the Keele Certificate of Language Competence (CLC).

If you start at absolute beginners' level it would normally take you three years to achieve the CLC; if you already have some language skills, you could acquire it after two years of classes.

Keele Certificate of Advanced Language Competence (CALC)

Learners who reach stage 10 in French or German at Keele will be awarded the Keele Certificate of Advanced Language Competence (CALC).

All Keele students taking a language module can be enrolled on the CLC/CALC award programme free of charge.

In an increasingly competitive and international labour market, an official language qualification will be a great addition to your CV.
