School of Life Sciences Photographic Competition

All students in the School of Life Sciences are invited to submit photographs for the School of Life Sciences Photographic Competition 2014.

The two categories are:
1. My Life Sciences course
2. Wildlife at Keele


In each category, the first prize is £50 and the second prize is £25 (Amazon vouchers). Photos should be submitted by e-mail to: lifesciences.photo2014@keele.ac.uk. The closing date is 5 pm on Friday 9th May 2014.


Competition Rules
1. The competition is open only to students registered on undergraduate or postgraduate courses or
registered as a postgraduate research student in the School of Life Sciences during 2013/14. No
more than THREE photos may be entered per person in each category.
2. Photographs must be submitted in JPEG format and be not more than 25 MB in size. They must
be submitted by e-mail to lifesciences.photo2014@keele.ac.uk together with your name and the
category in which the photo is entered.
3. The deadline for submission is 5 pm on Friday 9th May 2014.
4. By submitting an image you confirm that you took the photograph and that you are the copyright
holder and creator of the image.
5. Copyright will remain with the photographer. However by entering this competition the
photographer agrees to Keele University using the images for possible exhibition, publication or
promotional use.
6. Minor digital editing or adjustments to the image are allowed, but the image should be a faithful
representation of the original scene and not deceive the viewer or misrepresent the reality of nature.
7. Photos will be judged mainly on their quality, interest, originality and relevance to the category.
8. Each person entering the competition may win no more than one of the prizes.
9. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The judges reserve
the right not to make any award if, in their opinion, none of the entries meets the required standard.
10. By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees to these Rules.
