Dr Peter Thomas's 'Fire in the Forest' is an Outstanding Academic Title
Dr Peter Thomas's latest book, 'Fire in the Forest' has been recognised by the The American Library Association as an Outstanding Academic Title for 2011.
Fire in the Forest was written by Peter Thomas, Senior Lecturer in in Botanical and Environmental Science, and Rob McAlpine of the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, Canada, with contributions from Peter Hobson (Writtle College) and Kelvin Hirsch (Canadian Forest Service). It is published by Cambridge University Press and is one of three books written by Dr Thomas for Cambridge.
Every year the American Library Association produces a list of Outstanding Academic Titles. This prestigious list reflects the best in scholarly titles and brings with it the extraordinary recognition of the academic library community. In awarding this distinction, the editors apply several criteria:
- overall excellence in presentation and scholarship
- importance relative to other literature in the field
