School Student wins Nuffield Bursary for Summer Work at Keele
Leon Ferguson, 17, from St Peter’s Collegiate School in the West Midlands spent his summer working on malaria in the laboratory of Dr Srabasti Chakravorty, lecturer in biology.
The project, studying the effects of malaria on brain endothelial cells, was supported by a Nuffield bursary. Several Keele undergraduates were also awarded Nuffield bursaries to spent summer 2011 working on malaria in the group of Dr Paul Horrocks.
