Catalogues of Other Libraries

The catalogues (sometimes referred to as opacs - short for Online Public Access Catalogues) of almost all academic libraries, and many others, are available online.

U.K.

COPAC
The Union Catalogue of the Consortium of Research Libraries (CURL). Provides free access to the merged online catalogues of 24 major university research libraries in the UK and Ireland, plus the British Library and the National Library of Scotland.

British Library
The British Library Integrated Catalogue allows users to check holdings of the major Reference and Document Supply collections. In many cases it is also possible to request copies from the Library's Document Supply Centre (BLDSC).

SUNCAT
The pilot Serials UNion CATalogue for the UK. The pilot service includes records from 22 of the largest UK research libraries and the databases of the CONSER programme and the ISSN International network. Further libraries will be added. A full service will be launched in Autumn 2006.

A2A
The A2A (Access to Archives) database contains catalogues describing archives held throughout England, dating from the 900s to the present day.
