Books - Keele University

Books

The Library has some 475,000 books.  To find the location of items (e.g. Short Loan, where printed journals are stored, Special Collections & Archives and so on) shown in the Library Catalogue, check the Floor Plans.

Many books in heavy demand are kept in Short Loan on the Middle Floor (entrance next to the service counter). More information is available on our Borrowing page

Major special collections include the British Parliamentary Papers Collection and the Local Collection of material relating to Staffordshire and neighbouring counties. The EDC (European Documentation Centre) Collection contains the official publications of the European Community.

There is a separate Health Library in the Clinical Education Centre at the City General Hospital (University Hospital of North Staffordshire). Everyone who works for or with the NHS in North Staffordshire, all students and staff of Keele University and others with a need for health information can use this Library.  If you are a member of the University, you need your Keele Card to borrow books.
