@Keele - Link Resolver

What does the  resolver do?

@Keele is an OpenURL link resolving service which enables users to access swiftly specific electronic materials which they have found within databases or journal lists. If you find an interesting article within a database then you can access the full text of the article within two clicks. If the full text of that article isn't available from Keele's electronic journal holdings then you will be given further options to assist your research.

Where is the  active?

@Keele is active in most of the major databases subscribed to by Keele University. It will be available in further databases in the next few weeks. It is also available via most of the major journals providers. Wherever you see the @Keele button the link resolving service is available. If there is a database or other resource in which you think @Keele should appear, please contact us

Can I use  when I'm working off-campus?

Yes!  It works in exactly the same way.  All you need to do is first log into the database with your Keele username and password, as normal.  You will see the '@ Keele button' exactly as you would if working on-campus.

Google Scholar and ?

@Keele also communicates with the Google Scholar search engine, so if you're looking for articles on the web you can quickly see which of them you have full-text access to through Keele Library. To get this working, before you perform your search click on scholar preferences and type 'keele' into the Library Links search box. Tick the box, click on Save Preferences and you're ready to go. When you've typed in your search, any results with 'full-text@Keele' link next to the title provide a direct link through to the article.

How do I use ?

It's easy! Simply click on the @keele button next to the citation of the article or journal you wish to access. This will bring up the @Keele menu.

The  menu and further options

Upon clicking the @Keele button you will be presented with a menu like the one below:

This menu gives you all the access options for the relevant journal, and if you were linking from a citation it would provide all the access options for the relevant article. To access the article simply click the 'Go' button of your choice. If no electronic access is available you will get a message saying this. There is also always an option to seach the library catalogue should you wish to see if a paper copy is available. By clicking on the 'More Options' tab you can download the article / journals citation information.

Citation linker

You can also search for articles if you have a citation by using the Citation Linker. Fill in the form providing as much information as you have (an ISSN or journal title is essential), submit the form and you will be given access options through the @Keele menu as above.

The AtoZ

A new AtoZ of Keele electronic journals is also included with the link resolving software. Through this you can browse or search for journal titles or packages, or browse subject areas. The citation linker is also included as a tab within this service. Once again, access to journals is via the @Keele menu accessed by clicking on the @Keele button.
