Library and IT Advisory Group

Terms of Reference for Library and IT Advisory Group

  • To advise the Librarian and Deputy Director IT on the information and IT needs of the academic community
  • To provide information and guidance to assist in the formulation of the Library and IT budgets
  • To advise the Librarian about matters relating to Library policy and management, and the Deputy Director IT about matters relating to IT services policy and management
  • To advise on the development of new Library and IT services
  • To receive regular reports and operational plans from the Librarian and Deputy Director IT
  • To represent the interests of Library and IT users
  • To report to the Library and Information Strategy Committee

  • PVC Education and Student Experience
  • University Librarian
  • Deputy Director IT
  • Three representatives from each of the Faculties (these should reflect both teaching and research interests) These are currently:
    • Dr Lindsay Bashford (Faculty of Health)
    • Frank Rutten (Faculty of Health)
    • Dr Wynne Thomas (Faculty of Health)
    • Professor Ian Bell (Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences)
    • Kelvin Johnstone (Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences)
    • Alison Parr (Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences)
    • Ximena Canter (Faculty of Natural Sciences)
    • Richard Darton (Faculty of Natural Sciences)
    • Professor Dave Hoole (Faculty of Natural Sciences)
  • Two representatives from Keele SU (normally President and VP Education)
  • A representative from KPA (normally Chair)
  • Up to two Library staff in attendance
  • Up to two IT staff in attendance

Frequency of Meetings

  • Four times per year (timed so as to report in to Library and Information Strategy Committee)

Review of Terms of Reference

  • Every two years
