- Zoe Pearson
LLB (Waikato) 1996, LLM (Distinction) (Waikato) 1998, PhD (Australian National University) 2002, Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand.
Zoe's broad teaching and research interests lie in the area of international law. Her research to date has considered the contribution of global civil society actors to the development of international law, including publications based on a case study of the roles of NGOs in the negotiations to establish the International Criminal Court. Current research and publications focus on space, pluralism and complexity in international legal regulation, and on feminist perspectives of international law. She has a particular interest in critical theories of international law, international human rights and environmental law, and the structures and processes of public international law. She also has interests in the formation of policy and the domestic implementation of international human rights norms.
Zoe is happy to supervise postgraduate research on non-governmental actors, international human rights law, comparative perspectives on human rights, and international legal theory.
