Held in the Law School at Leicester, the conference was full to capacity, with over 50 students attending from all over the U.K. as well as Ireland and France. Sessions on topics such as  'supervising your supervisor', 'getting published' giving conference papers' and 'academic job-hunting' were delivered by a team of senior legal academics including Professor Rosemary Hunter (Kent), current Chair of SLSA, Professor Linda Mulcahy (current SLSA Treasurer and former SLSA Chair) former SLSA Chair Professor Sally Wheeler (Queens University Belfast) and former SLSA Vice Chair Professor Dave Cowan (Bristol), along with Professors Bradney and Cownie (both former SLSA Vice Chairs). The conference, which is free for participants, is offered by SLSA as part of its commitment to the development of socio-legal studies. It is organised annually and is now in its 18th year.
