Students offer aid on legal problems

DOZENS of people who cannot afford their own solicitors are turning to law students for help as they fight custody battles, eviction notices and disability benefit appeals.

The pilot project has seen 30 Keele University students trained as community legal companions (CLCs), who offer practical support in a range of civil cases across North Staffordshire.
