Video transcript for Lauren's video

My name is Lauren, I’m a first year and I am studying History with Media, Communications and Culture.  I decided to come to Keele when I was living in Australia.  I saw it on the website and I fell in love with it because it is so pretty and I got here on an Open Day and I just knew it was the university that I wanted to come to.

When I first got to Keele I was, you know, scared about meeting new people, but then you sort of get to know that everybody’s in the same boat and you get to meet new people and they are all so polite and so nice and friendly and you just sort of feel so welcome.

The social life at Keele is amazing; there is so much to choose from.  There are loads of bands playing; there are comedians, magicians even; for international students they’ve got like international student gatherings like discos and things like that, so they can all meet with people from their country, so no one feels left out – there’s just so much to choose from, it’s like really diverse.

Keele’s definitely different from school because it’s more interactive; I mean with the seminars you can go and you can interact with the teachers, you can ask questions and you know they give you responses and you can just discuss; so I find that’s a lot nicer way to learn.

The lecturers at Keele are really amazing; all the professors and doctors, you know they’re so friendly you can just go up and ask them questions, they help you with your essays and you know you feel like you can talk to them whenever you want and the lecturers are just really helpful.

Thanks very much.
