BA International Business
This is a new undergraduate programme which combines the study of management techniques and practices and places them in an international context. Students on this programme may be particularly interested in the opportunity to study abroad during their second year and also in the modern language options offered as electives.
The study of International business in Keele Management School has a distinctive approach to teaching and research, encouraging students to take a critical perspective on organisations whilst also exploring fundamental business skills and knowledge.
Level 1
The first year programme comprises two core modules, Management in Context which looks at management and organisations in an historical, political and economic context and Globalisation which focuses on how international business operates and the global market framework.
Students are also able to choose electives both from within the School and/or from elsewhere in the University.
Level 2
Builds on the knowledge gained in the first year with two further core modules, Organisational Behaviour which examines the way in which people behave and interact as members of a business or organisation and, Operations and Quality Management exploring concepts and techniques within specific organisational contexts and why quality is crucial to organisational success.
A further two electives can be chosen both from within the School, and/or the University.
Level 3
In the third year the two core modules are Business Strategy, examining the formation of organisational strategies and International Business Strategy, examining the wider influence of business internationalisation on societies, regions and nation states. In addition, students undertake the double module Independent Study Project and an elective from the School's portfolio of modules and/or from elsewhere in the University.
