Since 1996, I have been working as a researcher, manager, consultant and teacher in the field of international development and corporate social responsibility. I hold a PhD in Business and Management from the University of Nottingham (International Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility), MA in Development Studies from the University of East Anglia and MA in Philosophy from the Government College Lahore (Pakistan). Prior to joining Keele Management School in 2010, I worked with, and for, Save the Children UK, the Corporate Citizenship Unit (Warwick Business School), the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the Resource Centre - Prince of Wales Business Leader Forum (UK), the Department for International Development (UK), the European Commission, the Swiss Development Organisation, and the U.S. Labour Department. I worked in the South and Central Asian region.
I am a member of the Institute for Public Policy and Management. My research interests include realising human rights in transnational business networks, corporate human rights practices and programmes, discursive processes of ethical decision-making, firms-NGOs partnerships in the context of globalisation, critical approaches to corporate social responsibility and reflexive research methodologies.
