Course Overview

The Postgraduate Certificate in Leadership and Management programme is designed with flexibility in mind.  Each of the modules is taught over three Saturdays thereby minimising the impact on the working week.  Delivery will comprise lectures, discussions, group working, role plays, short presentations and simulation exercises.

There are two modes of study available:

The PG Certificate

A twelve month course where participants choose to study three of the four core modules on offer and then complete a  Certificate Project.

Enrolment on the twelve month Postgraduate Certificate includes student membership to the Chartered Management Institute and core text provision.

Modular Study

Participants can choose to take as few or as many modules as required.  Modules can be “banked” and used to build up to the full Postgraduate Certificate provided that all modules required to achieve this are successfully completed within a three year period.

Course Aims

The course aims to provide a managerial tool-kit and an environment where ideas can be shared and explored through collaborative development and delivery.

The course is designed for those:

  • facing challenging situations at work
  • currently aspiring to managerial positions
  • currently engaged in management who wish to sharpen their knowledge
  • who are newly promoted to managerial roles
  • looking to formalise their management skills
  • considering a formal degree qualification

Course Structure

Each module bears 15 credits.  An accumulation of 60 credits will lead to the award of a Postgraduate Certificate in Leadership and Management. This will made up of a choice of three of the modules below plus the Certificate Project.
