Marilyn at KMS Careers Event

Posted on 19 April 2012

This spring we held the first of what we hope will be an annual careers event for our second year students, organised in partnership with Keele Careers and Employability.

The afternoon began with two talks, one on the international job market looking at suitable job search strategies, how to identify relevant opportunities, what employers are looking for and the issues surrounding visas.  The second talk concentrated on the UK job market including what kinds of careers KMS graduates move into, who are the big recruiters, what sorts of salaries they offer and how to develop the skills these employers are looking for.

Following a traditional afternoon tea in the Great Hall, participants had the opportunity to take part in ‘round table’ discussions on a range of career options available to Management graduates including a career in academia, how to start your own business, graduate and undergraduate internships, work experience and international job seeking.

We were really pleased by the number of students who opted to attend this free event and particularly impressed by their enthusiasm and lively participation.
