Careers Event for Second Year Keele Management School Students

Second year Keele Management School students are invited to a Careers Event specifically designed for them, being held on Wednesday 21st March, 2012 in Keele Hall.

The event is free of charge, but there are a limited number of places. We anticipate a high demand, so places will be reserved on a ‘first come, first served’ basis and we will only be able to allow entry to students who have received email confirmation from us. If you reserve a place but are then unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible so that your place can be given to somebody else. If you are unsuccessful in securing a place we will try to put on this event again at a later date.

If you would like to come along please email kmscareersevent@mngt.keele.ac.uk , indicating whether you would like to attend the International or Home/EU talk.

A full programme will be emailed to you once you have a confirmed place, but the afternoon will start at 1:15pm with a welcome from Professor Marilyn Andrews, Pro VC for Education and Student Experience and Dr. Steve French, Head of Keele Management School. This will be followed by a choice of two talks, either:

The International Job Market
Specifically for international students, covering topics such as the labour market China; Malaysia etc; postgraduate study in the UK; visa and work permit issues.

OR

Career Options for Management Subjects
For UK/EU students’ discussing the career options available to Keele Management School graduates.

At 2:30 there will be Afternoon Tea in the Great Hall.

Then from 3:00 to 4:30pm you will have the chance to discuss your career options in more detail with informal ‘Drop Ins’. Covering subjects such as A Career in Academia; Postgraduate Study; Enterprise Options; Post-graduation Work Experience/Internships; Graduate Placement Schemes and Job Applications; International Job Seeking or Keele Graduates ‘Route to Job’.

If you have any queries prior to requesting a place, please contact Dan Harding (d.harding@keele.ac.uk).

Staff Events

The Centre for Culture, Organisation and Markets (COM) seminar series provides a forum for the presentation of critical approaches to the study of work, cultures of work, work systems/organisation, and to markets, consumers and consumption within the context of social and economic change. Embracing qualitative and ethnographic methods, research perspectives are inter-disciplinary and sensitive to gendered social relations in work and consumption and to issues of power and identity in cultural formations.
