Welcome from the Chairman Owen Powell MBE
It is exciting to see Keele World Affairs go from strength to strength each year with its large and committed membership and ever-increasing ability to attract authoritative and often very distinguished speakers.
The forthcoming series promises to be one of our best ever – please be sure to look at who is expected to address us. You do not have to be a genius to become a member [heaven forbid!], you simply need an intellectual curiosity about the world we live in and how it is governed. Our audience is popular with visiting speakers because we are a diverse and mature group that asks searching questions in a friendly way, and this adds to the stimulus of each Thursday evening.
We aim to make World Affairs accessible and relevant to all members of the community so I do hope you will explore our website to find out more about us.
World Affairs is more than just a set of lectures – we are a vibrant, sociable, and stimulating group which I hope you will wish to join if you are not already a ‘regular’.

World Affairs - you are simply 'the best'
Unique
The weekly lectures are a wonderful way to be kept up-to-date with expert opinions on an excellent choice of world topics. I look forward to the lectures....and to the feed-back from members of the audience!
The lectures are invariably given by people who know what they are talking about, and who provide the facts without any political spin. What a refreshing change - and long may it continue!
The lectures are absorbing, enriching, enjoyable and very informative.
Stimulating and informative...the range of topics plus the quality of speakers and the opportunity for questions and discussion makes the whole experience unique and exciting.

From being an "ejit" regarding politics in the past, I am absolutely captivated and immensely enjoy Keele World Affairs
Always informative, educational and the question and answer session entertaining

Thursday night is World Affairs Night, has been for many, many years, & long may it continue!
I thought I knew a lot, but what I know now is accurate.

World Affairs - Original, stimulating, sociable, the ideal place to go during the long winter evenings!
Most of the lectures will stimulate a most thought-provoking conversation either at the coffee break or on the journey home
