Keele MedPath
**New for 2012**
This year will see the first delivery of the student- led initiative, Keele MedPath. This project aims to promote medicine in the local young community, raise aspirations in under represented groups, and giving prospective students the tools and support they needed to apply to medicine.
Doctors interact with everyone in the community, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender or social background. Some groups however remain under-represented among students studying to be a doctor.
We, as current medical students at Keele University, will begin to address this in the local community through partnerships with local schools. Throughout the year we will be delivering interactive sessions designed to give insight into medical school and a career in medicine.
The sessions will be primarily aimed at Key Stages 3 & 4 when GCSE and A-level choices are made, and will be run closely with the Careers and Skills Academy at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire, with its fully equipped skills lab.
Sessions will be advertised throughout the year and there will also be the opportunity to host personalised events for larger numbers in a single school or group of schools.
To enquire about booking a MedPath session for your students please complete the online survey below.
