Keele:Desire
Keele: Desire is an E-mentoring scheme being offered to Year 13 students who have applied to study at Keele University and would like to find out more about university life. Our Student E-mentors will answer questions, share their experiences and will support applicants, via our secure, monitored E-mentoring website, helping as they prepare for university life.
Applicants are likely to have lots of questions and/or concerns. They may want to know more about what the University is really like. We can assist and support in taking the next step on the educational journey, by providing applicants with their very own Keele Student E-mentor. Our Student E-mentors will aim to:
• Encourage learners to talk about their ambitions and hopes for the future
• Raise awareness of HE opportunities and support exploration of options, helping learners to develop progression plans
• Help learners develop useful organisational and time-management skills
• Share good revision practice and study techniques
• Offer support, encouragement, guidance and motivation
• Give learners a student’s view of university
• Prepare them for transition into university life
It is not long since our Student E-mentors left school or college so they and are in the best position to support with making the transition to university.
To get involved applicants can fill in the online application form that is available here.
