What is Unifest?

Unifest is a  three day residential stay here on Keele campus, and is often the event that young people really enjoy and engage with.

The mix of academic lectures, workshops and guest speakers combined with the opportunity to stay in student accommodation gives attendees a real-life university experience.

The evenings see a range of social activities from a disco and karaoke in the Students’ Union, through to late night ghost walks and laser quests in the woods.

Attendees will dine in Keele Hall or Comus restaurant giving you the opportunity to make new friends over some of Keele's finest Cuisine. Keele Student Ambassadors will act as a moral and geographical guides, staying with you for the whole time you are with us.

How much will Unifest cost me?

The whole event, including accommodation, transport and food is funded by Keelelink, meaning absolutely no cost to you, the individual learner, nor your school.

How will I get there?

Attendees will be picked up and dropped off at meeting points that will be local to you, either your school, a bus station or a church, for example, on 16th July 2013.

You will need to be accompanied by an adult until the coach arrives to collect you, where you will be greeted by our Student Ambassadors and brought to Keele.

You will be dropped off at the same location at the conclusion of the event, where there will need to be an adult waiting to collect you

Keelelink Unifest is a loco-parentis event, so no teachers or parents will be present at the event.

Do I need to be local?

You do not need to be local, our coaches will travel far and wide to collect you. In exceptional circumstances, we can come to alternative arrangements, such as a Student Ambassador meeting you at a train station for example.

How do I apply?

Please click here to apply for Unifest 2013

To register for Unifest you will have to meet HEFCE's WP requirements.  There are a number of different criteria that we look at to see if students meet these requirements; for example, living in a low participation area, parents occupations being in the NS-SEC 4-8 remit or having a disability.

If you are unsure if you meet this criteria we encourage you to still submit your application and we will get back to you to let you know if you have been successful.
