The General Public
Keele University Sustainability Hub has two exhibit rooms with displays on the innovative energy technologies used in the Hub builduing and information about other types of renewable energy and tips on sustainable living.
The Sustainability Hub also aims to be a link between the academic community and the wider surrounding community. Below a couple of our current outreach activities are outlined.
The Space Observatory
Keele University Space Observatory is open to the public on Tuesday evenings from eight o'clock in the evening to look at the night sky using the large telescopes housed there, and to learn about astronomy from helpful experts. Follow the link to the observatory on the right.
Grey Matters
Project ‘Grey Matters’@ Keele is a new outreach initiative started in September 2011 aimed primarily towards the ‘ageing’ (50+) local community. The project provides a meeting facility and access to education programmes for the ‘older’ community, where they can engage in various educational activities and be actively involved in the Keele Campus Community.
The older generation have a lot to offer in terms of experience in sustainability and a key feature of the project is intergenerational exchange of experience and knowledge. Events and activities involving students, staff and Grey Matters members are planned starting with the Grey Matters Open Day on Thursday the 24th November. So have a look at the flyer via the link on the right and come along on the day and join us!
