Community Groups

Keele University Sustainability Hub aims to be a link between the academic community and the wider surrounding community.  We have several initiatives designed to engage with the world outside Keele but we would also like to hear from community groups willing to forge links with us.

The Space Observatory

Keele University Space Observatory is open to the public on Tuesday evenings from 8pm in the evening to look at the night sky using the large telescopes housed there, and to learn about astronomy from helpful experts.  Follow the link to the observatory.

Grey Matters

Project ‘Grey Matters’@ Keele is a new outreach initiative started in September 2011 aimed primarily towards the ‘ageing’ (50+) local community. The project provides a meeting facility and access to education programmes for the ‘older’ community, where they can engage in various educational activities and be actively involved in the Keele Campus Community.

The older generation have a lot to offer in terms of experience in sustainability and a key feature of the project is intergenerational exchange of experience and knowledge.
