New Cyclists and Advice

Cylists leaving Keele Sports Centre for a cycle ride We particularly encourage anyone who would like to start cycling to work and support them by offering accompanied rides in, route advice and encouragement.

Find a Bike Buddy using our e-mail list. A bike buddy may give advice and support with minor repairs, finding bike friendly routes or accompanying inexperienced cyclists.

  • Mike Barr  has lived and cycled in this area for a long time and has a good local knowledge of cycle routes suited to different levels of cycling experience.  He is happy to be contacted by anyone who would like advice on a commuting or other cycle route.  He is also willing to accompany an inexperienced cyclist on a commuting ride, providing that a reasonable route exists, and the start point was within 5 miles from Keele.
  • Michèle Bourne cycles in each day from Penkhull. She is happy to help you mend a puncture and will cycle in with inexperienced cyclists wanting to cycle up Keele Bank.
  • Martin Frisher is happy to meet other cyclists who would like to cycle from Nantwich or Crewe
