Biography

Dr. Mobeen Ur Rehman joined Keele University in March 2024 as an Associate Professor in Finance. Previously, he worked as an Associate Professor at Sohar University, Oman, and SZABIST University, Pakistan. Dr. Mobeen obtained his post-doctorate from Montpellier Business School, France in 2021. He also held senior research positions at multiple universities in France, Vietnam and Russia. Dr. Mobeen also has corporate experience of 5 years in the banking sector before joining academia in 2012.

With a solid academic foundation and a strong commitment to advancing finance knowledge, Dr. Mobeen has developed a specialized research focus in Finance in general and Financial Economics, Energy Finance, Green and Sustainable Finance and Digital Finance in particular. He has published in several ABS-ranked journals and presented his work at several international conferences. He has supervised research studies of five PhD students and the thesis of multiple students at MS and MBA levels.

Dr. Mobeen has around 100 ABS ranked publications and has been nominated as the top 2% scientist in the world in 2023 according to the report issued by Stanford University. Dr. Mobeen also received the Emerald’s Literati Award (Awards for Excellence) in 2020 for the most commendable paper. He is also a member of the American Finance Association. Dr. Mobeen is in the editorial board of many reputed journals and also working as an Associate Editor of two Impact Factor journals.

Research and scholarship

Dr. Mobeen’s area of interest is Finance in general with a specific interest in data-driven applications based on contemporary finance fields. These include Data-driven innovation; Fintech, finance and financial services and sustainable finance.

He has been working with many reputed researchers from renowned universities in Australia, UK, US, New Zealand among many other countries. He has worked on multiple funded projects and presented his work at various international conferences.
