Since 2006 I have successfully worked on (through to completion) two MRC funded projects (“Assessing Barriers and Opportunities for Healthy Lifestyle Interventions in Severe Mental Illness (BLIS)” and “Public involvement in suicide prevention: understanding and strengthening public responses to distress (PUBLIS)”).
In addition I have worked as the research development fellow for the Mental Health Research Network Cymru (MHRN-C); during which time I was involved in facilitating the development of the service user and carer led research group and I have been employed by the School of Medicine at Swansea University as the local research coordinator for FolATED (Folate Augmentation of Treatment – Evaluation for Depression: a randomised controlled trial funded by the Health Technology Assessment Programme).
Research interests:
- qualitative research methods;
- health, particularly health attitudes and beliefs; and
- the evaluation and improvement of healthcare systems.
