I came to Keele University in June 2011 to join the newly established Health Service Research Unit (HSRU). Previously I held appointments at the West Midlands Public Health Observatory and Leicester University.
I am currently working on the CoMMandD project which aims at improving the care for patients with multimorbidity of COPD and heart failure at the time of their hospital discharge.
My first degree is in Medicine (M.B.B.Ch, Hons 1st) and I had an MSc degree in Public Health (Distinction). My PhD was in Health Service Management which considered organisational factors affecting hospital length of stay for total hip replacement in the NHS hospitals (University of Birmingham, 2006).
