Research and Clinical Experience:
• Interventional Radiology
• Vascular: diagnostic arteriography via the femoral, brachial and radial artery routes; selective arteriography.
• Biliary/GI: PTC, drainage, balloon dilatation of benign biliary strictures, placement of biliary stents.
• Urological: percutaneous nephrostomy, percutaneous nephrolithotomy, placement of antegrade ureteric stents and dilatation of ureteric strictures.
• Ultrasound: abdominal and small parts Ultrasound; ultrasound guided biopsy and drainage procedures.
• CT scanning: all aspects of diagnostic CT scanning, particularly oncological imaging and neuro-imaging.
• MRI scanning: oncological imaging, brain and spine imaging.
• Nuclear Medicine: standard techniques: bone scans, V-Q scans, DTPA/MAG3 renography and DMSA scans.

• Philips Medical Systems (equipment and software support value approx £100,000) to support the evaluation of 3D rotational angiography for use in peripheral arterial intervention, with particular reference to renal arterial stenting, iliac angioplasty/stenting, and iliac aneurysm stent grafting.
• Royal College of Radiologists pump priming grant (£500) to support project entitled “The potential role of Optical Coherence Tomography in the assessment of vulnerable carotid atheromatous plaques”.
